Hello Mates,
Where to start? Lectures have been amazing and have been challenged to step outside of my comfort zone and also have been challenged not get too comfortable in Lancaster. I feel God is calling me to other nations to reach out and really show His love which brings me to week 6. The title was missions and and the end of a week which completely pumped me up for missions. We did an assignment called "adopt a nation" and God really gave me a heart for Somalia which I didn't really have before. We were challenged to pray, give and even go which was way too exciting to think about! The following week was Authority and Submission which was pretty tough. Going into the week I really was wondering how this was actually going to apply to me but quickly understood that God calls us to obey authority whether you like that person or not which was a big challenge for me. The speaker Steve Aherne, who was insane, started off the first week by speaking prophetic words over people and straight up just telling people about their lives for the most part...I felt like he was staring into my soul, regardless, he told me something that God has been sharing with me and it really came together for me. It was a great week that was completely lead by the Holy Spirit. At some points during the week, he would just go off on rants which was not part of his teaching because he felt the Holy Spirit was telling him someone needed to hear it and it was so dead on. The guy could have breathed fire out of his mouth and I wouldn't have thought twice about it. Fear of the Lord was the following week which was really good and was a good reminder to live a life of hating sin and loving God. A simple thought but something we need to be reminded of often because of our stupidity, or at least mine. This week we are finishing up Lordship and today really challenged me. The speaker gave us a list of things that we need to let go of and give to God and man...at the end of the list it was a lot to handle but God calls us to sacrifice things and for example, an object or a talent is nothing to give to God because God gave us His son which in turn gave us life. I learned this week that God will never call us to give up more than He gave, Jesus can always relate to us sacrificing things for Him because there wasn't anything Jesus did not sacrifice for us. These past 2 weeks have really broken me to give everything I am to God because when we are completely humbled and surrendered, that is when we our going to maximize all God wants to do in our lives and when He can use us the most. Our speaker this week Arjan gave us a quote that blew me away and really challenged me and hopefully it challenges you too. "If God isn't the Lord of all, He isn't the Lord at all" Wow, powerful and convicting. It really made me think twice about what exactly I'm still not laying down in my life. I found out my outreach locations and am heading to London in about a month which I am so pumped about! I will be there for about 6 weeks and then heading to Hyderabad, India. I am so stoked to see what the Lord has in store for us and how we can be used to further His kingdom! But with outreach comes finances. I am in need of around $4500 by tuesday. If you feel God laying on your heart to give or even pray for our team that would be appreciated. I want to thank you all for the support so far and am trusting God to provide all funds to make it possible for me to go on outreach. The link is below and if donating, make sure you go through the steps...Music DTS, paying for student, and my name. If you have any questions you can email me at bennertyler@yahoo.com or find me on facebook.
Thank you!
Tyler
